DRG Stimulation

Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) Stimulation is for patients who have pain that may not be adequately treated with surgery and pain that continues despite conventional pain management therapies. DRG stimulation resembles conventional spinal cord stimulation (SCS) and is implanted into the epidural space in the spine under X-ray guidance. The device sends an electric impulse, which alters the body’s perception of pain. DRG stimulation is used to treat neuropathic pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) at focal pain locations that might not be amenable to treatment with conventional SCS systems.
